Tech Town Startup Selected to Participate in Walmart Get on the Shelf Contest

Local company is on a mission to connect with shoppers and help them be green at the supermarket.

DAYTON, Ohio – August 17, 2013 -- ConnectEKO is developing an electronic system that reminds shoppers to bring their reusable bags and recyclables into the store with them.

ConnectEKO’s product, RBit FROGS™ aka Remember Bring it – Fun Reminders Of the Green Scene, has made it past the first stage of the Walmart Get on the Shelf Contest - hopping into the audition round. This online crowdsourcing round involves a social media voting platform that is open to the public until September 2nd. RFID startup lands in Dayton

October 26, 2011 - A startup company that uses technology to remind grocery shoppers to be environmentally friendly has landed in Dayton.

The founders of Electronic System Innovators, also known as ESI, were in Tampa, Fla. until recently joining the Dayton RFID Convergence Center, a for-profit incubator dedicated to radio frequency identification technology.

June 11, 2011 - The Electronic System Innovators startup is developing a small, wireless-enabled rubber frog that rides in a consumer's car and detects when the driver enters a store's parking lot, reminding them to bring in their reusable bags.
